Journalism has become "green journalism" per se, as seen by mainstream media, meaning that it's all about the money. Therefore, we see a lot of sensational news stories in the mainstream media, because they want those stories that will attract viewers in order to increase their ratings and make money. However, blogs are not given as much publicity as mainstream press, and can therefore report actual important news stories and real opinions rather than censoring information.
All in all, I thought the election coverage was rather clear and complete from all stations.
Week 13
Chapter 13 talks about the ways in which the news industry and journalism itself is rapidly growing and converging. The future of journalism is all about convergence. However, no matter how journalism changes the chapter says that "clear writing and the provision of context and background" will always be fundamental. Journalists will always have to remain ethical and true to their values and profession as well.
Week 14 & 15
"TBA" Nothing has been provided for these weeks.
